AlQa'dah 5, 1436, Aug 20, 2015, SPA -- North and South Korean troops exchanged fire across their fortified border Thursday, dpa cited an official as saying. A missile from the North landed in a north-west part of its southern neighbour, whose military responded with artillery fire, a spokesman for Seoul's Defence Ministry said, without adding information about any damage. South Korea's military were on their highest alert status, Yonhap News Agency reported. The country's National Security Council had been summoned to an emergency session. Earlier Thursday, KBS radio broadcaster reported that North Korea's military fired at a propaganda loudspeaker set up on South Korea's side of the no-man's land between the rival nations.
