A defense official says two Malian soldiers were killed and five were injured in an attack on their convoy in the center of the country. Lt. Col. Diarran Diakite, a defense ministry adviser, said the attack on Sunday occurred on the road between the central towns of Nampala and Diabaly, situated roughly 400 kilometers (250 miles) by road north of the capital, Bamako, AP reported. He said the identity of the attackers was unknown.
