The Afghan Taliban on Thursday confirm that Mullah Omar, the group's supreme leader, died following an illness, dpa reported. In a statement issued by spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the Taliban say that the family of Mullah Omar has confirmed his dead, which occurred because of an unspecified illness. The statement did not say when he died.
