Greece will receive a bridging loan of 7.16 billion euros (7.7 billion dollars) "on time" by Monday - when the country faces a large debt repayment to the European Central Bank (ECB) - says European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis, according to dpa. The funds will be disbursed in "up to two instalments," allowing Athens to also clear its arrears with the International Monetary Fund, according to a statement by EU member states. Dombrovskis says it will probably take a "few weeks" to finalize a third bailout programme for Greece, and says this will "preferably" be done before another ECB debt repayment becomes due on August 20. He said that the issue of Greece's debt sustainability will "certainly" be part of the bailout negotiations.
