Roger Federer lost a service game for the first time in more than a month on his way into the semi-finals of Wimbledon with a 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 defeat of Gilles Simon on a rain-interrupted Wednesday at Wimbledon. The second-seeded Swiss went 116 unbroken service games - since Halle last month - before French 12th seed Simon broke for 5-all in their third set, dpa reported. The Swiss record-setter, winner of seven titles at the All England Club, paid little notice as he went about his business of demolishing Simon for the sixth time in eight meetings. Federer moved into a Friday semi-final against Andy Murray after the third seed beat Canadian Vasek Pospisil 6-4, 7-5, 6-4. It took two rain pauses before officials finally closed through over Centre Court to allow that contest to finish undisturbed. Federer and Murray have not met at Wimbledon since Federer won the 2012 trophy at the Scot's expense, a few weeks before Murray returned the favor on the same court with a victory for the Olympic gold medal over the Swiss. Federer fired 11 aces and 26 winners in his straightforward victory as he motored on the lawns. Despite the interrupted nature of the win, the 33-year-old was pleased to advance. Top seed Novak Djokovic was taking a 12-0 margin into his quarter-final against US Open winner Marin Cilic, while French Open champion and fourth seed Stan Wawrinka was facing Richard Gasquet in a battle of classic one-handed backhands.
