Former senator James Webb joins Democratic presidential race

James Webb, 69, who has served in the Senate and
received the Navy Cross for heroism as a Marine in the Vietnam War,
declared his bid Thursday for the Democratic Party's 2016
presidential nomination, dpa reported.
Webb joins former secretary of state Hillary Rodham Clinton, 67,
Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, 73, former Rhode Island governor
Lincoln Chafee, 62, and former Maryland governor Martin O'Malley, 52,
in the intra-party race ahead of the November 2016 general elections.
