German Chancellor Angela Merkel sees no sign of a last-minute breakthrough in the stand-off between Greece and its creditors, despite insisting that the door to Athens remains open, dpa reported. The European part of Greece's bailout would expire at midnight (2200 GMT), Merkel says, adding: "I am not aware of any other reliable evidence." But she said "the lines of communications with Greece will not be cut" even when the bailout programme is wound up. "The door stands remains open" for further negotiations, Merkel said.
