A district governor was killed on Wednesday in a roadside bombing in north-eastern Afghanistan, a government official said. "Abdul Jabar Mosadiq, district governor of Kishim, was killed in the morning when he and a bodyguard were returning to the office," said Shah Wali Adeb, the governor of the province of Badakhshan. Accordng to dpa, he said the bodyguard was wounded. The Taliban immediately claimed responsibility for the bombing.
