Former Turkish president Demirel dies

Former Turkish president Suleyman Demirel died overnight in an Ankara hospital, media reports said Wednesday, according to dpa.
The 90-year-old died of a respiratory tract infection and heart failure.
Demirel was active in politics for decades and was president between 1993 and 2000.
