The FIFA congress to elect a new president to replace incumbent Joseph Blatter is to take place on December 16, a leading German league official said Wednesday. "The date is decided," German football league (DFL) president Reinhard Rauball told reporters in Cologne before Germany's friendly match with the United States. According to dpa, FIFA have not confirmed the date of the congress which was supposedly to be decided by the executive committee at a special meeting in July. Blatter announced his decision to resign on June 2, four days after a ballot at the FIFA congress in Zurich where he earned a fifth term with 133 votes from the 209 member federations.
