The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia reiterated its continued support for the efforts of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) aiming at achieving food security and fighting against hunger and poverty at all national, regional and international levels. In his speech at the 39th FAO Conference hosted by Rome, Abdurrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al-Fadhli, Minister of Agriculture, said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in line with the national and global efforts and trends, worked within successive developmental plans in order to implement strategies and programs to enhance food security through improving sustainable agricultural productivity and competitiveness. He lauded the FAO efforts during the past years, especially in reduction of hunger and poverty and promotion of food security and nutrition.
