Police in Waco, Texas, have arrested 170 people and charged them with engaging in organized crime connected to capital murder, Police Sergeant Patrick Swanton says in broadcast remarks, according to dpa. Police had a heavy presence outside the Twin Peaks restaurant before the melee broke out on Sunday, based on intelligence ahead of time about the five rival biker gangs meeting there, Swanton says. Gang members started shooting at one another, then turned their fire on police, Swanton says. Nine people died in the gunfire, he confirms.
