The Shanghai stock market has hit a record seven-year high, state media reported on Saturday, despite China's economic growth dropping to its lowest rate in six years earlier in the week, dpa reported. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was up 2.2 per cent at 4,287.3 points, having surpassed the 4,300-point mark at one point in the day, the Xinhua news agency reported. The Shenzhen index on Friday gained 1.3 per cent, closing at 14,149.34 points. Total turnover on the two stock markets amounted to 1.53 trillion yuan (228.5 billion euros), Xinhua said on Saturday.
