The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States has welcomed the decision of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi of the Republic of Yemen, appointing Khaled Mahfouz Bahah, as vice president, in addition to retaining his post as prime minister, considering this as an important step to strengthen the efforts of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to restore security and stability to Yemen. The GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani stressed that the Gulf Cooperation Council will continue its support for all the efforts of President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi and Khaled Bahah as well as Yemeni political forces adhering to the constitutional legitimacy for the completion of the political process in accordance with the Gulf initiative and its executive mechanism, the outputs of the comprehensive national dialogue, and the relevant resolutions of United Nations Security Council .
