The General Authority of Civil Aviation said that an Iranian plane carrying 260 Umrah performers was prevented from entering the Kingdom's airspace yesterday afternoon due to the absence of a permission for the plane issued by the Authority allowing it to fly to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is the procedure followed according to international regulations, as the operator must apply to the Authority for an application in advance specifying the type of aircraft, the registered mark, the certificate of validity, and other documents to ensure the safety of travelers and air skies. The Authority's official spokesman Khaled Al-Khaibari said in a press statement, "The Authority emphasizes that such violations, both made by the Iranian airlines or other foreign airlines, are prevented from flying inside Saudi airspace". He reported that the operator is entitled to the inclusion of any plane wishing to operate to the destined country by submitting an application in advance that shall be in conformity with the regulations and international standards, as is the case in all countries of the world.
