The Security spokesman of the Interior Ministry said that at ten o'clock on the evening of Wednesday, 12/06/1436 AH and during the performance by the border guards of their duties at one of the border control outpost in Alhosn center of Asir region, they were exposed to heavy fire from an opposite mountainous area inside the Yemeni border necessitating a reply in kind to the source of fire and control of the situation with the support of ground forces. The exchange of fire resulted in the martyrdom of Corporal Salman Ali Yahya al-Maliki and injury of 10 other border guards with non-life-threatening injuries. The injured were taken to hospital to receive the necessary medical treatment and care.
