Advisor to Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Muhanna reviewed the importance of oil and the media's interest in it. The review came in the first session of the second petroleum media forum of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for Arab States currently being held in Riyadh. Dr. Al-Muhanna provided detailed information on oil markets and their linkage with other markets and various events. Dr. Al-Muhanna said the creation of a successful Gulf oil media requires the clarity of purpose of the establishment of this media, the training of Gulf human cadres, the independence of the news agencies and media, and the cooperation of government officials and oil companies with the Gulf media .
