Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Defense, Chief of the Royal Court and Special Adviser to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, arrived yesterday in the city of Jizan in an inspection visit to the Southern Region. Upon arrival, the Minister of Defense boarded a helicopter heading to Al Khubah, where he inspected Advanced Operations Center and discussed the tasks of the center, the executed periodic military plans and tactics and the importance of boosting them in a manner compatible with the region. The Minister of Defense paid an inspection visit to the site of the tactical force which includes forces of rapid intervention of the eighteenth Brigade in the area, a station for wireless reconnaissance and electronic support, and the system of unmanned aircraft (Luna), whose capabilities were boosted with sophisticated systems, and which includes a station to control the aircraft with latest technology and modern reconnaissance capabilities. The Minister of Defense later headed to the duty force's headquarters in Um Alturath and discussed with officials the main challenges and a number of initiatives to further develop the work and its performance competently. Prince Mohammed bin Salman discussed with the commander of the southern region, the commander of Jizan force and senior officers ways to strengthen military action system in the region, and ordered the immediate start of building the naval base in Jizan and buildings of the armed forces in Najran and the rapid completion of the construction of additional camps in Jazan and Najran in addition to the immediate beginning of the study and design of building additional housing units in Jizan and Najran and expansion of Jizan hospital.
