Singapore began seven days of national mourning Monday after the death of its first premier and dominant statesman, Lee Kuan Yew, dpa reported. Lee died in hospital early Monday aged 91, the government said. "The prime minister is deeply grieved to announce the passing of Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the founding prime minister of Singapore," said a statement from the office of Premier Lee Hsien Loong, Lee's son.
