China's exports boomed in February, a news report said Sunday, according to dpa. Exports were up 48.9 per cent year-on-year to 1.04 trillion yuan (169.11 billion US dollars), while imports were down 20.1 per cent to 666.1 billion yuan, state-run Xinhua news agency reported, citing the General Administration of Customs. The resulting trade surplus was 370.5 billion yuan, boosted by a pickup in the US economy, a major export market for China. Beijing Saturday lowered its target for trade growth to 6 per cent for 2015, down from the 7.5-per-cent target for 2014. Overall trade only increased by 3.4 per cent last year, less than half the target.
