The Republic of South Africa and the State of Qatar today signed an agreement on ways of evading double taxation and prevention of financial evasion regarding taxes on income between the two governments. South African Finance minister Nene Musa Nhlanhla signed for his country while his Qatari counterpart Sharif Al-Ammadi singed for the GCC member country. A statement by the Qatari Finance ministry said the agreement aims at evading double taxation and increase of cooperation in various economic, investment and financial fields between the two countries.
