Thirteen cases of Hepatitis A have been confirmed in an Australian outbreak sourced to widely-sold imported frozen berries, media reports said Thursday, according to dpa. More cases could be diagnosed, Australia's chief medical officer Chris Baggoley told reporters, predicting that around 100 people would be infected but not all would show symptoms. About 20 cases of the viral disease that affects the liver are reported in Australia each month, according to Baggoley. The Department for Education and Child Development on Thursday published a list of 22 sites where the berries may have been served. The Hepatitis A cases were first reported at the start of the week, in Victoria, New South Wales, Qeensland and Western Australia. The patients were all found to have eaten the same brand of frozen berries.
