Japan said Tuesday it would provide 15.5 million dollars in aid to support counter-terrorism in Africa and the Middle East, dpa reported. The funds were to beef up border control and investigation capabilities, Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters, and doubled the previous commitment he made in Brussels in January. Japan will outline the measures in more detail during an upcoming international anti-terrorism conference Thursday in Washington, he said.
