Two bodies found Thursday increased to five the number of people killed in a blast at a Brazilian oil rig operated by Petrobras, dpa reported. The Norwegian firm BW Offshore, owner of the rig equipment, said that four people remained missing following Wednesday's blast. Two people were in critical condition and a further eight were in hospital with less serious injuries. According to BW Offshore, there were 74 workers on the Cidade de Sao Mateus rig at the time of the blast. The rig was drilling about 60 kilometres off the coast of Aracruz in south-eastern Brazil. Everyone on board was evacuated for safety reasons after the blast, the firm said. The Brazilian state-controlled oil giant Petrobras said the rig produced about 2.2 million cubic metres of natural gas per day. Brazilian authorities said no fuel was leaked into the ocean due to the blast. -- SPA 11:50 LOCAL TIME 08:50 GMT تغريد
