UN peacekeepers in Central African Republic (CAR) used helicopters to bomb positions held by a rebel faction in a town northeast of the capital, killing six rebels, the United Nations said Tuesday. The peacekeepers and French soldiers hit government buildings in the town of Bria occupied by the Popular Front for the Renaissance of Central Africa (FPRC). "The operation was carried out after the repeated refusal of armed groups to peacefully evacuate government buildings. It aimed to put an end to a parallel administration and protect civilians," the U.N. mission said in a statement.
