The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Iyad Ameen Madani, condemned the continuation of heinous acts by the terrorist group ISIS, the latest one being the cold-blooded murder of Japanese journalist Kenji Goto. Madani offered his condolences to Goto's bereaved family, the Japanese people and government; and renewed the OIC's sympathies with the families of all those who were cruelly killed by this terrorist group. The Secretary General further renewed his call for a multifaceted confrontation to extremism and extreme and terrorist movements. A confrontation that calls for political inclusiveness, seeks economic revival, create social hope and purpose and deprive extremists from their claim of ideological and religious legitimacy. The Secretary General vowed to marshal all OIC's resources in the fight against terror and extremism; and to help expose those who penetrate and exploit extreme movements to serve their political ends and agendas.
