The first session of the Global Competitiveness Forum in Riyadh, organized by the Saudi Arabian General Authority stressed the importance of improving the competitiveness of the government sector in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. A number of ministers and officials highlighted the initiatives taken in this regard, particularly the shift to electronic transactions. The session featured Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, Minister of civil Service Dr Abdulrahman Al-Barrak and other officials. The two ministers highlighted their ministries' efforts in boosting competitiveness of the government sector in the Kingdom. In a press statement following the session, Minister of Commerce and Industry Dr. Tawfiq Al-Rabiah said that the Ministry of Commerce is keen to provide its services with ease and clarity, adding that many of the dealings of the ministry are currently electronic without paper transactions.
