U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Friday that he is concerned by violence in Central America and El Salvador. While visiting El Salvador, Ban told reporters in San Salvador "We're very worried at the levels of insecurity and violence across Central America and El Salvador." In El Salvador, the number of murders last year jumped by almost 60 percent to an average of 12 killings a day. Meanwhile, 39 police officers were executed by suspected gang members.
