The Ministry of Interior said in a statement issued today that Rakan bin Eid bin Bikheet Al-Baqmi (Saudi nationality) was executed in Turba Governorate in Makkah region today because he has chased a security patrol and fired it with a number of shots from machine gun, resulted in martyrdom of the soldier / Sultan bin Ibrahim bin Ghrahid Al-Jaid after the patrol tried to arrest him for his involvement in an ex criminal case, when assaulting security men. The Ministry said that the General Court convicted the above mentioned offender; the sentence was endorsed by Appeal and Supreme Courts; and a royal order was issued to execute the sentence. The Ministry of Interior affirms that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud is keen on maintaining peace, achieving justice and implementing Allah Almighty's orders due to their great harm to individuals and the society, warning whoever tries to commit such actions that he will be punished according to Sharia.
