Heavy rain in parts of California has prompted authorities to order the evacuation of a small number of homes due to mudflows 80 kilometers northwest of Los Angeles. Ventura County officials said Tuesday the homes in Camarillo Springs are in an area that burned in a wildfire more than a year ago. The same neighborhood experienced flooding and mudflows from heavy rain earlier this year. A Pacific storm is moving into drought-hit California, bringing much-needed moisture but also fears of mudflows on wildfire-burned hillsides.
