Protesters in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson on Friday planned to clean up a drugstore damaged in this week's racially charged rioting but a line of police and National Guard troops blocked the entrance, Reuters reported. The Walgreen Co. store was one of several buildings that were looted or burned on Monday after a decision by a grand jury not to indict a white police officer in the shooting death of an unarmed black teenager in August. Ferguson was quiet on Thursday night with National Guard troops and Humvees posted at previous trouble spots. The National Guard had closed off a large parking lot in front of a Walmart store in north St. Louis Thursday night, as authorities anticipated the possibility of demonstrations there on Black Friday, the traditional opening of the holiday shopping season. -- SPA 20:48 LOCAL TIME 17:48 GMT تغريد
