Prince Faisal bin Khalid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Assir Region, who is also the Chairman of Prince Khalid Prize Commission, announced here this evening the names of laureates of the three-part King Khalid Prize 2014. The prize for "development partners" went to Dr. Sarra Al-Abdulkareem for her "Ahdhan" initiative, a voluntary females group serving orphans and disabled children, winning 39 % of the votes. The second prize allotted for "non-profit excellent organizations", was snatched by the Saudi Woman Innovation Center, located in Jazan and led by its owner Aesha Al-Shibaili, getting the support of 32% votes, for training Saudi young females, particularly the divorced and widows, on handicraft industry. The third prize in the field of "responsible competitiveness" went to "Bio Architecture" initiative, owned by Saleh Ibrahim Al-Nasser, who won 29% votes for using natural resources, recycling of wastes and exploiting building remains in building economic homes. The prizes will be handed over in Riyadh on 8th of Rabee Al-Awal 1436H.
