Brazilian police say they have arrested 13 people in an operation aimed at dismantling a branch of the country's strongest organized crime gang in the capital city of Brasilia, AP reported. Fabio de Souza of the Brasilia police department says investigators identified 27 alleged members of the Sao Paulo-based First Capital Command. More arrests are expected in the next few days. From behind bars, the group directs drug and arms trafficking, bank holdups, kidnappings, extortion and killings inside and outside of prison walls. The objective of the operation set in motion Friday is to prevent the group from spreading its influence in the region and into prisons in and near Brasilia. -- SPA 22:59 LOCAL TIME 19:59 GMT تغريد
