More than 150 people are feared dead after a landslide in central Sri Lanka and the search operation for survivors has been suspended, Minister of Disaster Management Mahinda Amaraweera said. "There were some 300 persons living in this area, but about 75 children had gone to school some others had gone to work in the tea plantations," Amaraweera said. A count in underway of the remaining residents who have been placed in temporary camps. "It is a difficult task as it 3 kilometers away from each of these camps. The search operation also has been suspended due to adverse weather and more threats of landslides," he said.
