Kurdish troops on Saturday regained a major town from IS militants in northern Iraq after a massive counterattack, a Kurdish official said, according to dpa. The Peshmerga, the military forces of the autonomous region of Kurdistan, took control of Zumar and surrounding villages near the city of Mosul, about 400 kilometres north of Baghdad, the official said. "The Peshmerga troops continue to advance," the official said on the condition of anonymity. -- SPA 21:13 LOCAL TIME 18:13 GMT تغريد
