AlHijjah 30, 1435, Oct 24, 2014, SPA -- South Korea's economy grew 0.9 per cent in the third quarter from the previous three-month period, an increase in the pace despite a slowing of exports, the central bank said Friday. According to dpa, the previously quarter-on-quarter growth was 0.5 per cent, it said in an advance estimate. Year-on-year, the July-to-September period posted a growth of 3.2 per cent, it said. The growth in gross domestic product was attributed to a monetary stimulus of 41 trillion won (40 billion dollars) announced in July and a rise in domestic consumption, which compensated for the drop in exports by 2.6 per cent from the previous quarter. The Bank of Korea last week adjusted its projected growth for Asia's fourth-largest economy this year from 3.8 down to 3.5 per cent.
