AlHijjah 29, 1435, October 23, 2014, SPA -- The value of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's non-oil commodity exports in August 2014 amounted to SR (18542) million, up by (22.2 %) compared to the same period of 2013, while imports amounted to SR (56483) million, up by ( 19.65%) compared to the same period of 2013. The Central Department of Statistics and Information (CDSI) said in its report to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that plastics and rubber products topped the list of non-oil commodity exports during the month of August by 34.15% amounting to SR 6,332 million, followed by chemical industry products by 29.52 % amounting to SR 5,474 million, and transport equipment by 10.82% amounting to SR 2,006 million. According to the report, the value of the Kingdom's imports of machinery, equipment, and electrical appliances increased by 27.88% amounting to SR 15,745 million; transport equipment by SR 17.10% amounting to SR 9,653 million; and ordinary metals and their products by 12.20 % amounting to SR 6,864 million. The United Arab Emirates ranked first in terms of the value of non-oil commodity exports by 10.60%, followed by China 10,13%, and India by 5.96%; while China topped the list of countries importing non-oil commodities by 15.42%, the United States of America came in the second place by 12.58%, and Germany, the third by 7.10%.
