AlHijjah 10, 1435, October 04, 2014, SPA -- More than 60,000 kilometers long road network inside the Kingdom and its linkage with neighboring road network has assisted pilgrims trekking into and out the Kingdom to easily perform their rituals. A report issued by the Ministry of Transport said the already-implemented road projects included a network leading to Makkah, Al-Madinah, Jeddah and holy sites in the vicinity of Makkah through contracts concluded to make developments, reforms and improvement of road and express network, bridges, flyovers, tunnels, parking lots, drainage systems, safety systems, and guiding signboards at a total cost of SR164,750,502. Preventive works on a number of express roads cost SR28,882,160, the statement said, adding that repair works were done at an estimated SR37,571,995.
