AlHijjah 06, 1435, September 30, 2014, SPA -- Yemen's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jamal Al-Sallal, has lauded the positions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in support of Yemen's current political process to continue taking the correct path. In a speech before the General Assembly of the United Nations in New York last night, Al-Sallal also paid tribute to the efforts being exerted by the leaders of the GCC, Secretary General of the GCC Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani, UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, his special envoy to Yemen Jamal bin Omer and the UN Security Council member states for their support for the political process in the Republic of Yemen. He also praised the role played by the Arab League, Islamic Cooperation Organization, European Union and other countries and international organizations and institutions by the side of his country. He said Yemen is, to a far extent, depending on the support extended by sisterly and friendly countries to help it overcome the tough times it is currently witnessing. Al-Sallal drew the attention to what he called a still fragile situation in Yemen despite the remarkable and historic breakthroughs achieved on the ground, in reference to the GCC initiative and its executive mechanism that led to the national dialogue and, later, the UN-sponsored Yemeni government and Houthi group Peace and Partnership Arrangement. He called on the world community to stand by the side of Yemen in its fight against terrorism, confirming his country's determination to continue its efforts to close all doors before terrorists and extremists.
