Obama pledges support to al-Abadi in ISIL fight

AlQa'dah 29, 1435, Sep 24, 2014, SPA -- US President Barack Obama vows US support to the Iraqi military as they work to retake territory from ISIL
militants.
"We are committed to working in support of Iraq, regaining territory
that ISIL has taken over and making sure that an inclusive Iraqi
government is able to control its territory and push ISIL back,"
Obama tells Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi in a bilateral
meeting on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
Al-Abadi told Obama it was important to get arms and equipment to
Iraqi forces quickly because they had lost arms in fighting against
ISIL.
