AlQa'dah 23, 1435, Sep 18, 2014, SPA -- FIFA is considering allowing smaller stadiums for World Cups from 2026, a senior official of football's world governing body said Thursday. "For future tenders we are looking at whether the requirements for stadiums are still contemporary," Juergen Mueller, FIFA's head of World Cup operations, told a conference in Hamburg, northern Germany. According to dpa, some capacity requirements could be reduced from 2026, Mueller told the Sponsors Sports Venue Summit stadium. At present only stadiums with 80,000 seating capacity are considered for a World Cup final and 60,000 for a semi-final.
