AlQa'dah 16, 1435, Sep 11, 2014, SPA -- Militants reportedly affiliated with al-Qaeda have released 45 Fijian peacekeepers two weeks after the group kidnapped them on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights, a UN official said Thursday. The soldiers have been returned to the UN observer force monitoring the Syrian-Israeli border, said Stephane Dujarric, a spokesman for UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon. "All the 45 peacekeepers are in good condition and will proceed back to Camp Foar for medical assessment," Dujarric said. The peacekeepers were released without a ransom or other conditions, Dujarric said.
