AlQa'dah 14, 1435, September 09, 2014, SPA -- Afghan President Hamid Karzai on Tuesday urged presidential candidates Ashraf Ghani Ahmadzai and Abdullah Abdullah to reach an agreement soon on a national unity government, according to dpa. Abdullah rejected the results of the June 14 presidential runoff, accusing the election committee, the government and Ghani's camp of fraud. "The term of the (current) government is over, and I ask the two dear candidates to reach an agreement for a national unity government," Karzai said. "Afghanistan needs a new government and they should reach a result even today," he said. The results of an audit of the election are expected to be announced later this week.
