German trade rebounded more than forecast in June, with data released on Friday showing imports surging at their fastest pace in three and half years and a pickup in the European economy helping to power exports higher. While monthly imports rebounded by 4.5 percent from a 3.4-percent slump in May, exports climbed by a more-than-forecast 0.9 percent despite global tensions including a standoff between the West and Russia, dpa quoted the Federal Statistics Office as saying. This compared with a 1.1-percent decline in exports in May. The rise in imports, which represents the fastest pace since November 2010, will add to hopes that domestic demand will emerge as a key driving force behind German growth this year.
