The medical team treating a Saudi patient suspected of infection with Ebola virus in Jeddah announced his death on Wednesday morning after his heart stopped despite attempts by the team to revive it. The health case of the patient was critical since his entry into the isolation ward in the intensive care late on Monday. The Ministry of Health, through a team of public health and since reporting of the case, began to follow up the patient's case since he travelled and arrived in the Kingdom to put under medical observation all the parties who were in direct contact with the patient since the appearance of symptoms of haemorrhagic fever on him after a business trip to Sierra Leone. The Hospital is taking preparations for the burial of the deceased according to international standards dealing with the epidemic cases. The Ministry of Health has sent in coordination with the World Health Organization the patient samples to a number of international laboratories accredited and authorized to perform such tests in both the United States of America and Germany for the detection of Ebola virus infection.
