Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud made a speech to citizens and Muslims everywhere on the occasion of blessed Eid Al-Fitr. Following is the text of the speech which was read on the media by Minister of Culture and Information Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddin Khoja: "In the name of God, most merciful, most gracious. Thanks to God Almighty who said in his holy book "To him mount up (all) words of purity: It is He who exalts each deed of righteousness". My dear citizens, Dear Muslims everywhere, I pray that Allah Almighty bestow his peace, mercy and blessings upon you, hoping that every year you are well, Usually Eid is an occasion of sanctified joy and delight Allah almighty send into the souls of his faithful worshippers, the Muslims, after having complied with what Allah almighty asked of them during this blessed month of fasting. Eid is the reward for those who followed in fear the prohibitions of Allah almighty and abstained from following one's desires. In this regard, Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) was quoted as saying that fasting and the Quran will come as witnesses on the Day of Judgment in defense of worshipers: fasting will say that it has prevented true worshippers from day meals and from satisfying their desires, pray accept my intervention on their behalf. The Quran appeals that its readers and reciters late at the nights of Ramadan deprived themselves of sleeping, so please forgive them. The prophet (peace be upon him) said Allah would accept such appeals. I congratulate you on having to your benefit those intercessors who mediate for you on the day of Judgment, owing to the efforts you have exerted through fasting and reading of the Quran during this blessed month, hoping that God bless this nation every year with goodness and prosperity and accept its peoples' fasting and worshipping. --More 23:04 LOCAL TIME 20:04 GMT تغريد
