US Secretary of State John Kerry left Cairo this evening after having talks with a number of Egyptian senior officials as part of a tour of the region which took him to several stops to discuss the situations and a possible a ceasefire in Gaza. During his short stay in Cairo, Kerry also took part in a quartet meeting with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Arab League Secretary General Dr. Nabil Al-Arabi and Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, said to have discussed the situation in Gaza. Kerry has confirmed during the meeting that Israel would accept a temporary truce proposal to have a ceasefire in Gaza.
