EU foreign ministers have tasked experts to look into the possibility of issuing new sanctions against Russia targeting defense, energy and financial sectors, Dutch Foreign Minister Frans Timmermans says. "We've ... decided that the (European) Commission will be tasked to look at a number of potential measures in a number of fields, including defense, dual-use goods and high-tech goods - including in the energy sector - and financial services," he says. According to dpa, the EU will also issue new travel bans and asset freezes, with a list of targets to be readied by Thursday, Timmerman added. "This is a logical consequence of ... the lack of progress we have seen on the Russian side," he said.
