The United States on Thursday denounced a "terrorist attack" a day earlier that killed at least 14 Tunisian soldiers near Kasserine, and said it was determined to support Tunisian anti-terror efforts. "We extend our condolences to the families of the victims and hope for a quick and full recovery of the wounded," State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki told reporters. "Recognizing that only in an environment of security and stability will a democratic Tunisia be able to continue to move forward in a positive direction, the United States will continue to support the efforts of the Tunisian government to combat the threat of terrorism," Psaki said. Unknown militants killed 14 Tunisian soldiers near the Algerian border, officials said Thursday, in the worst attack in the army's history. The attack by 40 to 60 assailants with automatic weapons and grenade launchers also wounded 18, and one soldier is missing, officials said.
