Bahrain's Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs condemned the brutal Israeli offensive on Gaza Strip, expressing sorrow over the atrocious massacres and humanitarian disasters resulting from the assault which killed and injured tens of unarmed civilians. In a statement issued today, the council said the aggression underlines Israel's brutality, lack of humanitarian values and transgression of international laws and conventions. It also denounced the double-standard policy of the western countries in dealing with Arab and Islamic issues, including mainly the Palestinian one, Bahrain News Agency (BNA) reported. The council urged an effective political and diplomatic action by Arab and Islamic countries to help the Palestinian people, calling on the international community to assume their responsibilities and intervene immediately to stop the brutal aggression, protect civilians and put an end to Israel's violations and repeated attacks.
